Audience
The major audience will represent Ukrainean business, medical and research communities, including teachers, undergraduate and graduate students of Ukrainean universities. The conference will be also widely advertised in all the seven CIS countries participating in WISTCIS. Thus, it is expected that many representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Russia will take part in the conference. Numerous international telematics projects that go on in collaboration of EU and CIS countries will be widely presented at the conference. Representatives of IST projects, as well as of other EU telematics initiatives, will be invited speakers at the conference.
Abstracts of the presentations will be published before the conference.
Submission of Abstracts and Registration
Organizations and individual specialists in modern information technologies for research, medicine and business, as well as research scientists, university teachers, medical doctors and businessmen, are invited to participate in the conference.
Students are welcome to the Conference at the reduced rate.
Abstracts of the presentations will be published before the conference. Abstracts (in English, 300-500 words, but not more than 1 page) and Applications for Exhibition should be submitted separately in electronic form to the Organizing Committee to B.Tsyganok, e-mail: tsiganok@uap.ntu-kpi.kiev.ua. Simultaneously the titles of the papers should be sent to T.Shulikovskaya, e-mail: shu@ednes..org.

Training Courses
Training course 1: European Union: background, objectives & opportunities
The course covers the basic items of the European Union. Starting with subjects like the history, organisation and objectives an overview of the policy developed by the European Commission to achieve their objectives will be given. Special attention will be given to the Fifth Framework Programme (5FP) which will be discussed in more detail. This scheme can fund or facilitate co-operative research projects executed by business and research institutes and which can also be joined by organisations based in CIS countries.
Training course 2: Information Society Technologies Programme
One of the subjects of the 5FP focuses on Information Technologies for Society. A work programme has been developed by the European Commission, where action items are described, which contribute to the objectives of the Commission. Companies and research organisations are invited to propose projects that can contribute to the realisation of the action items. The different lectures (5) give an overview of the action items (Key Actions), requirements for eligibility of a project, how to prepare a proposal and how to execute an awarded proposal. Special attention will be given to the role and opportunities of CIS countries.
Accommodation
The conference will take place in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. A variety of accommodations in 2-star, 3-star and 4-star hotels will be available with prices ranging from 80 EUROs to 170 EUROs. In addition a limited number of rooms in apartments of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnical Institute" (NTUU "KPI") will be available at reduced prices.
